I added more black to the shadow and I think it looks better now. As for the barbie doll, yes I’ve pasted over some more newspaper to cover it. Sorry girl, but I’ll promise I’ll draw you better next time!

Okay, so I am trying to do something a bit different on my recent piece of artwork. A bit of collage here and there, watercolor, pencils and some more collage! It’s not finished yet but thought of sharing the process bits since I haven’t been sharing the work pics in ages.
Now I look back at my painting and wonder…oh why did I have to add the barbie doll (on the far right at the bottom) at the last minute which totally screwed up the shadow !! Poor doll looks like she has four legs and arms! Ahh..
Shadow is one of the challenges for me at the moment. I’ll have to keep on practicing! 🙂

I’ve been a little obsessed with drawing circles in watercolor these days. Each circle represents a human being ..we’re different in colors and sizes but most of our shapes are amazingly the same.
And when we do connect, we are able to transfer an incredible energy that would make us so beautiful and powerful.
Why not do that rather than focusing on our differences..?

It’s been very cold and rainy in Melbourne for the past couple of days. It’s hard to believe that the season is spring turning summer…it feels more like turning winter in my opinion. But I don’t mind rain as long as I’m under shelter where I get to paint. My favorite activity of the day. I have been enjoying exploring watercolors recently, enjoying the spontaneous effects that water and paints create.

The circular design in the background is an exercise I learnt called Emily Green exercise. It’s been fun and really addictive. I hope you like them.

I’ve also submitted this to Illustration Friday as it marries with the week’s topic ‘energy’ 🙂

I always wished I had an older brother when I was in kindergarten…and felt excited whenever I could go play at my friend’s house who had two big brothers. I have two younger sisters who have now become one of my best friends. I think I’m able to share anything with her nowadays as we have both matured. She is the first person I send my drawings on mobile to ask for her opinion. She’s not always happy with the drawings but would give me a constructive criticism for improvement. It’s sometimes hard to ask your friends for this kind of criticism…so being sisters make it special.

Do you have (a) sibling(s)?
Hope the illustration brings you back to your childhood with your loved ones! x

Hi everyone!
I have a very exciting news to share with you tonight. I will have my drawing displayed at 2013 Art Exhibition at the coming World Vegan Day Melbourne, Sunday November 10! This year’s theme was ‘compassion’ and the topic really married with the theme I value every time I draw. As you can tell, I am very excited!

Above is the painting I did for fun this weekend.
Did you have a dream when you were little? What did you want to be when you grow up as a child?
Are you still pursuing that dream..or has it changed over the years.

It’s nice to take a break from the busy reality once in a while and listen to your inner child.
Wishing everyone a lovely start of the week. x
